Oakley used to crawl up and lay between our legs, with his head on our chest. He’d sleep there for as long as we’d let him. He once grabbed a knife off the counter, pointy side out, and when we tried to catch him, he started chasing us and we had to run away from him. He thought it was the best time and we were frightened we were going to get stabbed.

Hi, I’m Lucy. When Dad picked me up halfway across the island, it was love at first sight. The first year was a bit rough. They didn’t quite understand my chewing or prime rib stealing at first, but they learned quickly. Bull Terriers come with a lot of quirkiness, and I had plenty to share.

Walks were never really my thing. My happiest days were spent lying in the sunshine at home or at our trailer, my absolute favourite place to be.

Hunter and Drew spoiled me endlessly. I slept with Hunter every night, stealing his blankets and pillow to make sure he didn’t get too hot. Drew kept me well fed with pizza crusts, and I was always right behind Dad in the kitchen, watching closely in case something landed in my dish. More than anything, I loved snuggling with my humans and making sure everyone took their naps seriously.

Thank you for giving me the best life, filled with love, treats, and always paying the cheese tax.

Now, I’m off to soak up the sun.

Batman was just the best boy. He loved everyone and everyone loved him back. ♥
He was so loyal to his family, and he loved to be snuggled up next to someone while they pet him.
Batman was truly the most patient dog. He was gentle, he absolutely adored our kids, and he had a very special bond with his human sister, Rae.
We will love him forever and we feel so lucky that he was ours for 13.5 years. ♥

Our sweet, precious boy, Nielsen, crossed the rainbow bridge on January 5th.

There are a million pictures that we could post, and a novel that we could write here, but the wound is still too fresh and our hearts are absolutely shattered.

To the world he may have been just a dog, but to us he was our entire world. From the second we opened our eyes in the morning, our lives revolved around him. Nothing will ever be the same.

He had the pleasure of greeting many a tourist working on boat tours with his Dad, something he dearly loved doing, but it is time to hang up his handkerchief and leash.

His passing was sudden but peaceful in the end. We held him in our arms and told him how loved he was until he closed his eyes and took his very last breath. We are so grateful for the 9 wonderful years that we got to share with him, but forever would never have been long enough.

Love you with all the world, our sweet dog.
