Sir Phoenix

Every moment with Phoenix was the best. For a dog that slept more than 20 hours a day, he had so much personality. If you were anywhere near Phoenix, you were bound to look up to him an inch from your face, staring at you, and get a prompt burp in the face which was how he said I love you. Phoenix had absolutely no concept of personal space. He would sleep with his bum in your face with no care in the world, and we wouldn’t dare move him. He was extremely talented at always stepping in his own poop and tracking it through the house before we’d catch him. He was also extremely talented at always finding a way to beat himself up. By the time he crossed the rainbow bridge, he had no fur left on his back paws from all the scuffs. He was about as graceful as a Bull in a China shop. Phoenix loved his toys, and even at 11 years old, would get his zoomies of throwing his toys around like a puppy. Up until 2023, when he went under dental surgery, he was very fond of eating all of the eyeballs out of his stuffies. After losing 21 teeth, we noticed his new stuffies (in which he usually got once a week) were able to see. We cherished every moment with our sweet Phoenix, and he certainly lived the very best life that he well deserved. Phoenix’s very favourite thing was always the Sun. He was our Sun, and now he is forever in the Sun. We love you so much, Sir Phoenix.

Zeah King

From the first time I seen your face I knew that you would be mine. You’ve changed my life for the better, I never knew how much of an impact you’d make on my life until now that you’re not here. You had my back and stood by my side through so many stages of my life, no matter the circumstances you were the one who was there for me when there was absolutely no one else. By fluke one day I stumbled upon a Facebook article about a dog fighting ring and how the dogs would be euthanized seeing your golden eyes with that little sparkle of hope I knew I had to act fast. After a lifetime of abuse, Zeah’s appointment at the veterinary clinic in Labrador might have seemed like sweet release. Being adopted out 3 separate occasions with all of them ending her back at the shelter, becoming one of the longest residents. This was her last shot at her having the life she deserved. She was dogged by her own reputation from day 1 but needed the right person to give her a real chance. There’s not one “bad dog” on this earth, just bad owners! There was so many stipulations to adopt her- no other animals, no kids, no men, had to wear a muzzle in public, never off of her leash because “you never know if and when she would turn on you” after spending time with her and building a bond and trust I knew these stigmas weren’t Zeah’s, they were the past owners inflicted trauma on her. Less than a year of having you by my side there’s no trace of the lives she once lived or the horrors she endured after surviving horrible treatment, abuse, living outdoors, being forced to fight for her life and then to think you’ll be in a loving home just to be gave up on and brought back, made me determined to fight harder for you. I didn’t think twice about adopting you, untrue and unfair stigmas surround bully breeds especially ones in shelters- these don’t help the animal, it just causes more hate. These biases and stigmas can often leave dogs waiting in shelters hoping that someone will give them the second chance they deserve. Every dog will experience trauma differently and heal in different ways, and though every dog will have its own specific set of needs, just like Zeah. Showing her unconditional love, working with her to earn my trust. Knowing that she may be terrified of some people/ situations due to the abuse she suffered. But in reality bully breeds like pit bulls are the biggest babies and just love to cuddle. She was the best dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of having in my life. She was so gentle and patience with my daughter who has special needs, letting her take her toys, pull her ears and tail and even take treats from her. I got a cat who became Zeah’s best friend and little sister – they became inseparable. Every stipulation she was given, she didn’t need after a short period of having a loving stable environment. I hope Zeah’s story will help change peoples opinions of these beautiful animals and the stigmas that surround them, even if the only thing you take from this is “ There’s NO bad animals, ONLY bad owners” because Zeah is proof that with the right love, attention and care, you can change their lives and the outcome of their past. Zeah was 17 years old when she passed, and there’s not a day that has gone by since that we don’t miss her foolish smile, golden eyes and big slobbery tongue. We Love you so much Zeah-po-peeya

Prince Michael Fagan

Prince Michael 2010-2024

I am heart broken to say my best friend, companion, therapist & cuddle bud has crossed over the rainbow bridge Saturday March 16 2024.

A day I’ve recently thought about a lot but dreaded coming. He was my world. A strong personality, he got what he wanted when he wanted.

His endless licks will forever be missed as will his love for treats, fruit loops & McDonald’s fries.

Im beyond grateful for our 14 years together but devastated at the void he has left.

Also Left to mourn nanny & poppy Yvonne & Keith Fagan, Aunty Joyce, Nanny & Poppy Cable, Tasha, Brady & Makenze, Bella, Shane & Sadie, his West coast family Andrew & Irene, among many other

Midnight Sweers

Midnight passed away on March 2, 2024, after being with his family for just shy of 16 years. Midnight was the most amazing boy anyone could have asked for. Midnight, if love alone could have saved you, you would have been immortal.

Over the years, Midnight has made many friends though he will be remembered by his current housemates and kitty friends, Iris, Dolly, Pepper, and Misty. Midnight will live on in each member of his human family’s memory. His mom Tammy and siblings Jasmine, Michael, Amanda, Sabrina and Natasha will never forget what a good boy he had been. There are so many memories that will be cherished from the past 16 years. Some precious memories include Midnight chasing bubbles outside in the summer when he was a young puppy, watching him run around in baseball fields like he was a professional player, listening to him snore extremely loud while he slept and watching his face turn excited once he realized it was someone’s birthday (Midnight sure loved eating birthday cake).

Midnight has been a loving and loyal companion over the last 16 years. While he was on this earth for what is actually quite a long period, it does not seem like all that time has passed. It is hard to imagine life without you, Midnight, as you have become engraved in our hearts and daily lives.

We will love and miss you forever, Midnight. Thank you for all the wonderful memories you have given us. May you run pain-free once you cross the Rainbow Bridge. Your friends and family will continue loving and cheering you on from here on earth.

Until we meet again, buddy, we love you and already miss you immensely
