Donner

He was the best dog with the hugest personality. Everyone who met him loved him. He loved to eat so and pretty much shared everything we ate. He loved drives around the harbour and his favourite spot was to be stood on the console between his mom and dad. Although in the last few months he couldn’t stand up there for as long and chose to lay on the back seat for some of the drive. He loved to stop at Tim Hortons for a timbit or donut but the many times we passed by and didn’t stop he always looked over at the driver as if to say “you’re forgetting something”. He also loved longer drives with dad and mom especially when we would stop and get a take out lunch for the 3 of us to share. He walked many miles over the years with Mom, Dad & Gavin. He wasn’t fussy about the hot summer weather but he surely loved to go for a swim to cool off. He loved when Gavin played with his toys with him and took him downstairs to hangout and watch the hockey game. We often joked that he was soon going to talk and by it wasn’t far from the truth. He knew every word you were saying to him. He jumped off the couch or hopped up off the floor every time I sang out supper was ready as sure not to miss a handout from the table. He waited for his Dad’s hand signal he always used when going for a run in the car and he’d hop up to not miss a run around the harbour. He hated the sound of the bike starting up because that meant Mom & Dad were going for a few hours without him. He also hated when went got showers because it usually meant we were going out for a while and he’d lay on the bed all sad. But was delighted the times he found out it was somewhere he was going to. He was the saddest pup on crew change day when his Dad was going to work but the happiest boy the day his dad came home. To see the how excited he got and how he cried because he was so happy his dad was home again for a few weeks. Donner and his Dad had such a special bond. We will miss him forever but we have memories to last a lifetime

Obie Dean

Obie was one of a kind. He was the biggest goof ball. He had such human like qualities. A little human soul who loved everyone he met and everyone he met, he left a lasting impact on them. Sweet boy, I remember he would always watch TV with us and would let out a growl at anything from a mouse on the screen – to a horse lol he would normally bark at the horses and growl at the mice but it was the funniest thing to witness. He was definitely a vocal boy, it was almost as if we knew exactly what he was trying to say ♡

Obie loved nature, just like me. I soaked up every second I had with him, especially when we would go on a nice hike. We would always remember to stop and smell the flowers, and we did that together.

Obie loved a good snuggle and it gave me such comfort when he would snuggle up into my shoulder/neck. He knew he was loved.

I got Obie when I was 22 years old so he was with me for the majority of my 20’s and we definitely grew together as one. He was my heart and soul and if it wasn’t for him.. I don’t know if I would be who I am today or where I would be.. so thank you Obie for being the best dog I could have ever asked for and for guiding me to where I was meant to go. You are forever a part of me and I am so grateful for that. I love you, Obie and I miss you more then you’ll ever know.
See you on the other side baby boy.

Zoe

Zoe was different. She was the dog with anxiety, the dog that would bark when you left the house, the dog that sounded like she spoke when she’d howl at the neighbors or passer byers, the dog that hated the car, and most importantly, the dog that would eat her medication/pills straight out of your hand like it was a treat. She was afraid of her own farts, it was hilarious to watch her scurry away after you heard her let one out. Zoe was there for me on my darkest days, when I lost my mom. She loved to cuddle, at points getting right up in your face, but I loved those cuddles just as much. Zoe always wanted what we were eating, and always got it as we had to share. Before my mom passed away, Zoe religiously went to bed with her, and quite literally threw her whole body and weight on the pillow, and rolled over for belly rubs. She was the best, different in her own quirky ways, a fire cracker. I am going to miss her and every little thing about her. She made my days brighter, even when the sun didn’t shine.

We will miss you my girl, we love you to the moon and back.

Pretty

Miss her meowing, greeting us at the door, miss her pretty face. Pretty was so lovable & she was forever thankful to be rescued. She was lucky to be alive when we found her. She loved chasing Dereck around the house & he even had her chase her tail (like Keisha used to do). Keisha (black lab/cross) was our furbaby that we had when we found Pretty. Pretty loved Keisha & was devastated when we had to let her go. Layla now is feeling the loss of Pretty. She’s no longer in pain, so we have to remember that to keep us going. I bet Pretty was happy to see Keisha & my Nan at the Rainbow Bridge. We love & miss you forever Pretty. Thank you Angel Paws for the beautiful gifts in memory of our precious Pretty.

Mirabella

In her heyday Mirabella was unstoppable with a zest for life that far outshone her physical size. She was so smart, agile and quick, especially when a frisbee or ball was in play!

With a heart full of adventure she lived life to its fullest. From pulling dog sled in winter to running free in the open spaces of Labrador, to splashing along the beaches of Newfoundland, she embraced every moment with boundless enthusiasm. She was happiest off-leash, roaming through the woods, exploring every trail with her endless curiosity and joy. Her love for water was unmatched; swimming, running through rivers and brooks or chasing the spray from the water hose. She loved it all and was such a joy to watch.

Our hearts are forever changed by the memories she gave us—the laughter, the adventures, the quiet times. We will never forget her spirit, her gentle heart, and the countless ways she made our lives better.

Run free, sweet Mirabella, our unstoppable “baby girl”. You were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure.

Eddie Parrell

Bringing you home with your brother Steve for the first time. Watching you get comfortable, find your squeaky voice (but mainly your rumbles) and handling all of your mischief. Every time you would popcorn or week for salad. The rare moments you and Steve would have that were actually sweet, instead of you bugging him all day. The last night we spent together, knowing I was your last memory as you fell asleep in my arms. Eddie, you were my most vocal piggy in terms of all the rumble sass you would give everybody. I will miss that constant sound, I love you so so much my boy. I hope you’re getting all the treats up there, I’ll see you later.

Jax

Hearing him meowing loudly at me on the other side of the door every time I came home from work. He was always eager to show me he missed me while I was gone. He’d rub up against me, purr loudly, and raise his head high for pets. When he did, his mouth would open just enough for this breathy happy purr sound to come out.

Cali

Once upon a time I walked into the CBS animal shelter and was greeted by the sweetest little Calico cat. She followed me everywhere that visit and has ever since. She knew she was mine from the moment we met.

Cali became the epitome of a lap cat. Whether I was crocheting, reading, watching tv, catching a nap, outside chatting, etc – if I was still, she was up with me. Even when my pregnant belly made it hard, she’d curl around it and find a way. She loved to curl up on anything actually, especially an unmade bed or load of clean clothes

She was a gentle cat, wouldn’t hurt a soul (was half afraid of her own shadow) and was a fantastic little camper kitty.

If she ever went missing or stayed outside too long, just bring out the treat bag. She would not pass that up ever. And she was always underfoot during meals (if not actually sitting in one of the chairs, her little head poking over the table to keep an eye out for abandoned food).

She became sick and passed on far too young. Cali was only 10, I was not prepared to see her go so soon.

Cali-Bear, I am going to miss you so much. Being home now without you greeting me and climbing on my lap is still an adjustment and I will miss that and you forever. Curl up all cozy on a blanket now until we meet again.

 Pumpkin

Unfortunately, our time with Pumpkin was quite short. For the week and a half we were blessed by her presence, it was great. In fostering her for adoption, we spent a lot of time laying with her, praising her, and feeding her in order to build her strength and confidence. She felt very at home.

With our memories being limited together, our most cherished was on Halloween night. We were back and forth with both Pumpkin and Baby Boo as her official name, so we found it fitting to carve a pumpkin with the name Boo on it.

Although she passed the day before Halloween, her little light shone within her pumpkin, her name etched for all trick-or-treaters to see. She was surrounded by her family then as she now surrounds our hearts forever.

Gone, but never forgotten. We will love you always – unconditionally and endlessly.
