As soon as the can of food was opened, DixieCup spawned, meowing continuously and bright-eyed.
We love to hear her talk and she used to greet us coming in the room with a little “meow”.
She was so fluffy and soft, petite and pranced gingerly like a princess.
Sometimes she’d even swat at Dixie’s tail.

DixieCup was a rescued feral kitten we adopted at 4mos. Her original name was Dixie, and that’s how I knew she was for us. We already had a dog named Dixie, so we added “cup” at the end to distinguish the two. They were both referred to as the “Dixie Chicks”!
She liked to snuggle, but only on her time. Dancing was not a favorite of hers.
We miss her dearly and her beautiful soul.

Brazuca was born on April 9, 2009, in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia, the day our story began. From Australia to Brazil, and finally to Canada, wherever I went, she went. She was my shadow, my companion, my home for seventeen beautiful years.
She lived a life full of love, adventure, and devotion, always carrying her favourite little yellow chicken close by. She loved the beach during our days in Australia and Brazil, and once we settled in Canada, her happy place became Bowring Park. She lived for roasted chicken, turned her nose up at anything green, and adored her dear friend, the neighbour’s dog.
She was by my side through every chapter of my life, and the moment my daughter Alice was born, Brazuca chose her as her own, covering her in kisses from day one. Nine of her seventeen years belonged to Alice, and Alice will never remember a single day without her.
When Edmar came into our lives almost four years ago, Brazuca found another soul who loved her like a true father. He cared for her, medicated her, and held her until the very end with all the tenderness in the world.
When her kidneys began to fail, we promised her one thing: that she would leave this world with dignity. And she did, surrounded by love, in our home, in our arms.
A heartfelt thank you to Angel Paws for receiving our precious girl with such compassion and care. From the very first phone call, to the moment Dr. Flynn brought her into your hands, to the day my husband came to pick her up, you treated our family with extraordinary kindness. You comforted us in our most painful moments, and we will forever be grateful that Brazuca was held with such love every step of the way.
Rest now, sweet girl. We will see each other again.

My favourite thing about Bubbles was how he always meowed and “talked” to me. He was funny when he stole my socks and walked around with them in his mouth. He was also really silly when he played with catnip. I loved watching him and his sister Mellie run around and play together. He was a very special cat

My sweet little angel.
Mom’s girl.
Taken from us far too soon…

I remember our “gotcha” day like it was yesterday. I had a gray tabby cat chosen before I arrived at the SPCA. I went to go pick him up, but when I walked into the room, this tiny little beautiful baby started bellowing out to me, refusing to allow me to walk by and demanded all of my attention (as she always did).

I came over to her, and she was purring and pacing back-and-forth, rubbing up against the cage and my hands. She chose me and I chose her ….my beautiful little soul kitty.

The people at the SPCA told me how happy they were that I chose her, but that they had to tell me some unfortunate news. She has a low grade heart murmur. They told me she is at risk of developing heart disease, and that there were others who decided not to take the risk. I had already decided she was mine and so I took the risk anyway and I am so glad I did.

We had only almost 10 years (this October) together, not nearly long enough.
We are all left with a huge hole our hearts and the silence in our house is deafening. Everyone who knew her knew she was the most talkative little angel who loved her family fiercely. She wanted to be right up there with us in whatever we were doing even if it was just going to the bathroom.Lol. She gave all of her love all of the time. She was just happy. Happy to be with us. Heart full of love.

She had the most loudest and unique personality. She never laid in normal places or positions. She loved to lick and cob biting. She loved carrots and rolled around in them like it was catnip. She wouldn’t eat meat.(unless in a can) she loved sweets, like cake or icing or ice cream. She loved when I picked her up and cradled her and I would just walk around bumping and rocking her like my baby she is. I got to do that one last time as we said goodbye.

She brought so much love and laughter to our home, and I am forever thankful.

I love you, my sweet angel girl. I know you’re here with me, but we are going to miss you so much.

Our girl was sassy, independent, and absolutely her own creature… except when it came to Madelyn. With her sister, she was a total sook. Gentle, sweet, and soft in a way she saved only for the ones she trusted most.

We’ll miss her playful spark, and especially the way she’d ask for rubs and scratches with that unmistakable “you know what I want” look she had mastered. And we’ll miss her daily missions checking every closed door like a tiny inspector, determined to sneak in, explore, and find just enough trouble to make herself happy.

She was never ashamed of it. If anything, she was proud. Marlee lived on her own terms, loved on her own terms, and let her sweetness show when she decided the moment was right. That was part of her charm, she was unmistakably herself.

Run free Marlee. Thank you for the joy, the mischief, and the love you gave us in your own perfect way. You’ll always be part of our home.
