As a family friend once said, you were given the perfect name, since there are two things that all kids love: puppies, and Disney World.
When we took you to your first vet check-up, we were told that you had a heart condition and would be unlikely to live until your first birthday. We were absolutely devastated, as the love we have for you had already formed deep roots in our hearts. Little did we know that we would go on to have 12 and a half amazing, joyous, love-filled years with you. 12 birthdays where you were spoiled with all your favourite things. 12 Christmases where you always got to open your stocking first because you were the most excited. 12 whole trips around the sun, doing all your favourite things like eating cheese and chasing your beloved orange ball. I think you knew when we first brought you home, and you were just a tiny little 3-pound puppy, that we needed you. You completed our family for those 12 and a half years, and now without you there will forever be a little shih poo shaped hole in our lives.
Disney, you will forever be missed in our family. We will miss you rolling over for belly rubs. We will miss hearing you bark at any animal that passed by our window because you thought you could take them on — even if they were bigger than you. We will miss how you always curled up with your head on the pillow because you knew you were a princess. We will miss coming home and seeing you lying on your red blanket on the back of the couch in the living room, keeping watch out the window and anxiously awaiting our arrival. We will miss giving you chips and hearing you crunch as you chewed them. We will miss your constant, comforting presence in our home.
You were the perfect puppy and the missing piece in our family. Every single day of your life, you were told how much you were loved, and how you were the best. We all love you so much, and we hope that after crossing that rainbow bridge, you’re able to sprint after your orange ball again.

When I was volunteering at the SPCA In 2021, I was on the desk when Roxy was surrendered to the shelter. That evening I was lucky enough to be on closing shift so I was able to spend hours with her out back, that evening when I left, she was the only thing on my mind and heart. My next day I asked management about taking her home, I took her that day, I knew she needed a retirement home but little did I know, I needed her just as much as she needed me, almost 5 years together just wasn’t long enough, taking her to the pond to sunbathe and put her paws in the lake was her favorite activity when she was younger, in her old age, her favorite activity was lying out in the garden, enjoying the flowers and the breeze.

Wolfie was a traveler — he had gone back and forth from St. John’s to Bishop’s Falls many times. He loved to be in the car and was as quiet as a mouse on every drive (except when he needed the bathroom). You couldn’t find a better travel buddy.
Wolf also had to make an appearance in EVERY video call since 2020. He loved to watch and listen to people on the computer.

Max was an escape artist. How many times did he dig under the fence and go on an adventure? He was such an easy-going dog that you could take him everywhere. One night him and I packed up a tent and went camping. He really was a great dog.

We have too many favourite memories to list them all but he was such a silly boy. I remember when he snuck a lobster head in my bed. He was so stinky and orange. I bathed him and he threw up the lobster and rolled in it. Another time he stuck his head through my screen door. He was the best therapy dog. If you were having a bad he always knew it and was there to hug you and put his head on your chest so you could play with his soft ears. He was a big personality and will be forever missed.

Rylee loved visiting the cabin and going for rides on the quad.
Her most favourite thing to do was play outside with her human brother, Jonathan. They’d play soccer for hours, play in the pool, eat lollipops, and sit by the fire.
Rylee loved going in the car, especially if little brother was coming and we were heading to Tim Hortons. Her human brother always called her “sis” and made sure to give her a kiss goodnight.

Everyday was the best memories with Coal. The car rides from Alberta to British Columbia, the walks through the mountains or the Edmonton river valley, refusing to get out of the car when the drive was done, watching you drink water from rivers, how excited you get when everyone gets home from work, barking when someone hugged and didn’t include you. Watching you play with your favourite toys in the backyard and enjoying play time with your favourite dog friends like you were still a puppy. Soaking up the sun on the back deck. Laying in front of our bedroom doors hoping it would prevent us from leaving the house. But most of all the love, cuddles and kisses you made sure to give to all of us.

Annabelle was a truly one-of-a-kind kitty. She loved visitors and would often greet them at the door the moment they stepped into the apartment. She was the type of cat who would walk right up to you, purring like a little motorboat. Head and chin scratchies were her favourites—but don’t be fooled by her belly. If she showed it to you and you dared to touch it, you just might lose a finger… or two.
Her tail was always wagging—happy, angry, sad, or content. She could be hard to read sometimes, but Mommy knew her like the back of her hand.
Annabelle adored her zoomies, her after-shower cuddles, and making biscuits on all of Mommy’s soft blankets. She loved basking in the sun and lounging out on the balcony. None of Mommy’s plants were ever safe around Miss Annabelle—she knew she wasn’t supposed to chew them, but that never stopped her.
Christmas was one of her favourite times of the year. She would spend the holidays curled up under the tree, and every Christmas morning she somehow always knew exactly which stocking was hers. She loved her daddy, too—curling up beside him while he watched the game or getting extra pets while he watched videos. She would look at him with so much love, and he’s really going to miss her constant presence. She especially loved when her daddy gave her food or treats; she would eat every last bite, no matter what. There were even times when Mommy would feed her, but Daddy would have to pick up the plate and pretend he gave her new food before she’d eat it. LOL.
Our home feels so empty without our little Miss Pretty Girl, Annabelle… but we will forever treasure every memory she gave us.
