Michelle - Business Owner

Angel Paws was born from love and loss. Founded in June 2017 and officially opened in October of that year, the inspiration behind Angel Paws came from the passing of my beloved dog, Kasey. In my grief, I knew I wanted to create a place where fellow pet owners could find compassionate, heartfelt aftercare for their furry companions — a space where every pet is treated like family.

Kasey’s legacy lives on in every gentle touch, every cuddle, and every goodbye we lovingly provide. At Angel Paws, we believe each pet deserves to be honored with dignity, warmth, and love. The best part of my work is hearing the beautiful stories from pet families — tales of unconditional love, unforgettable memories, and the bonds that live on long after our pets have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

I’m lucky to be supported by an incredible team I consider family, who allow me to stay connected to what I love most — creating and caring. When I’m not at Angel Paws, I’m at home enjoying quiet moments with my own fur babies — Smokey and Magic, my affectionate domestic long-haired cats and Dobby, my spirited Yorkshire terrier who truly rules the house.

I also find joy in crafting, sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching — passions that reflect the love and care I strive to bring into every part of my life.

At Angel Paws, you’re not just a client — you’re family, and so is your pet.

Jessica – Manager

I joined the Angel Paws team in November of 2022, bringing over 15 years of experience working in the animal industry and a desire to try something new within the field.

My favourite part of working at Angel Paws is supporting clients through difficult times and helping provide closure with compassion. What I love most about Angel Paws is the genuine care we share for each other and the meaningful keepsakes we offer to honour beloved pets.

At home, I share my life with my wife and our fur babies: Skye the American Pitbull Terrier, Bullet the Australian Cattle Dog and Royal the Xoloitzcuintli

In my free time, I enjoy being out on the bike, kayaking, walking my dogs, fishing, and relaxing with my family.

Laura – Office Administrative Team Lead

I joined the Angel Paws team in May 2022 after working in the veterinary field, having earned my Veterinary Assistant Diploma in 2016.

My passion for animals and their families brought me here, and I’m so grateful to be part of such a compassionate, supportive team, one that feels more like family.

My favourite part of the job is being there for pet owners during their most difficult moments, offering comfort and care. I appreciate the fun; supportive culture our amazing boss has created for us.

At home, I spend my time with my two beloved cats, Snickels and Kicker. I also love spoiling our comfort canines Campbell and Bullet with lots of treats!

Gloria – Office Administrative/ Pet Actercare Specialist

I joined the Angel Paws team in November 2022, guided by my deep love for animals and a desire to help families find peace and closure after the loss of a beloved pet.

Coming from central Newfoundland, I personally experienced the lack of aftercare options — a difficult reality when saying goodbye to my own pets. That experience fuels my commitment to treating every pet in our care as one of our own.

What I love most about working at Angel Paws is offering compassion when it’s needed most and being part of a team that treats every pet with dignity and love.

At home, I’m surrounded by my fur family — Butters, my beloved tuxedo cat who passed in December of 2024, Buddy, my mixed-breed “monster”, Jiggs the Irish setter, Fiona the short-haired calico cat, and her short-haired orange tabby daughter, Loba. I treasure time at home relaxing and cuddling with them.

Melanie – Office Administrative

Melanie is a valued member of the Angel Paws team who
brings warmth, kindness, and compassion to everything she
does. She is a proud dog owner to three dogs! One is an
English Setter and the other two are terrier mixes, and loves spending time outdoors walking with them whenever she can.

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys fishing with her partner and embracing everything nature has to offer. She also happens to be incredibly talented in the kitchen, especially when it comes to baking homemade bread (something we are all a little spoiled with during lunch breaks here at Angel Paws!).

Her caring nature and love for animals shine through each day as she helps provide comfort and compassionate care to the families and pets we are honoured to serve.

Taylor– Receptionist

Taylor is one of the friendly faces you’ll see at the front desk here at Angel Paws. Although she has only been with the team since April 2026, Taylor already feels right at home alongside her
coworkers.

Outside of work, Taylor loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when card games are involved. She also enjoys travelling and exploring new places and has started collecting magnets from everywhere she visits as a fun keepsake. Whether she’s out adventuring or simply relaxing on the deck, Taylor appreciates spending time outdoors.

One of Taylor’s favourite parts of her role is helping families find comfort during difficult times. She also enjoys learning new things and developing new skills, always embracing the opportunity to try something different.

Jaxon – Office Administrative Assistant

I joined the Angel Paws team in March of 2022, inspired by the family stories and heartfelt work I witnessed. Being part of this family-run business has been a meaningful experience, and I wanted to contribute personally to the care and compassion Angel Paws offers.

My favourite part of working here is supporting pet owners and making sure they feel heard during some of their most difficult times. My coworkers here feel like a second family to me, and their support means the world.

At home, I share my life with many wonderful pets. We have Lexi, a Labrador and pitbull mix, Bruno, a Labrador and rottweiler mix, and Lola, a chihuahua.

Jayden – Office Administrative Assistant Summer Student

I joined Angel Paws in November 2025. I chose to work in this field because I believe every pet deserves to be treated with respect, kindness and care. Being able to support families during such a difficult time is something I take to heart.

Helping return precious pets to their families is a service I value deeply. I am grateful to work alongside such great coworkers—Angel Paws truly feels like a family, and I am glad to be part of it.

At home, I am the proud pet dad to Lola the Chihuahua, Lexi the Pitbull/Lab mix and Bruno the Rottweiler/Lab mix. They bring a lot of joy and personality into my life.

Outside of work, I enjoy relaxing and playing the drums.

Shadow aka Momma – Resident Office Foreman Lead

I’ve been part of the Angel Paws team since December of 2020. I chose this place for the free housing, free food and of course, bossing around the employees (and yes, I brought my daughter with me, too – she might be even bossier than me!)

My favorite part of living here? Sleeping in cozy spots, demanding attention, having my litter cleaned, and making sure the staff come in on weekends just to feed me. At “work,” I specialize in stealing lunches, walking all over keyboards, and scream-meowing to score extra breakfast and lunches.

Basically, I’m living my best life and running the show while I’m at it!

Shye aka Baby – Resident Office Foreman

I’ve been part of the Angel Paws team since December
of 2020. Why did I choose Angel Paws? Mom told me there was free housing, free
food, and she didn’t have to say more than that!

My favorite parts of living here are getting lots of
pets – I love a good roughhouse –, spending time with (and definitely not
bullying) my Momma and letting everyone know exactly when lunchtime is. At
“work,” my job is to make sure all the staff know which chair is my favourite
by meowing and leading them to it so they can pet me and chasing after all the
fun toys I let them buy me.

For fun I love napping, eating, walking all over
everyone’s work and computers, and trying to trick people into feeding me again
after I’ve already eaten. Life is good when you’re the boss!

Bullet – Office Foreman – Comfort K9

I joined the Angel Paws team in August of 2023. I jumped at this opportunity because it meant spending the day with mom, time away from my siblings and helping the team keep their spirits up.

The best part of work? Getting all the pets, snacks and love from my co-workers, of course! When I’m not “working,” I enjoy chewing my toenails, going on walks and swims, kayaking with my moms, and ATV rides.

Michelle aka Squared – Crematory - Pet Aftercare Specialist Lead

I joined the Angel Paws team in April of 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in the animal industry. I’ve worked in boarding kennels, doggy daycares, alongside trainers, and as a groomer. After witnessing many clients lose their pets over the years, I wanted to shift my career to better support pet owners through their grief.

My favorite part of working at Angel Paws is providing comfort and closure to grieving pet parents. What I love most about the company is the wonderful team of co-workers who have become a big part of my life.

At home, I share my life with my fiancée and our dalmatian, Campbell. In our free time we enjoy spending quality time at home, hiking, and competing in dog sports.

Amber – Pet Aftercare Specialist

I joined the Angel Paws team in August of 2024 after five years working in homecare, where I witnessed many clients lovingly say goodbye to their pets. This inspired me to give back to the community in a new way, supporting families through their pet loss journey.

My favourite part of the job is helping clients heal and find comfort during difficult times. What I love most about Angel Paws is our caring staff, always ready to lend a helping hand to those experiencing loss.

At home, I have a Calico cat named Touton. In my free time, I enjoy peaceful drives by the beach and cuddling with Touton by the woodstove on cold days.

Paula – Pet Aftercare Specialist

I joined the Angel Paws team in March of 2025, bringing over 10 years of experience as a veterinary assistant. My deep love and compassion for pets and their families inspired me to join Angel Paws, where I can care for each beloved pet as if they were my own.

What I love most about Angel Paws is the incredible support and love the team gives not only to each family who walks through our doors but also to one another.

Losing my own cherished pet, Tinkerbell, made me appreciate the importance of love and care during such difficult times. At home, my husband Andrew and I share our lives with our domestic long-haired cat Storm, aka Stormy, and our newest family member, Luna, a playful short-haired tuxedo cat.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my sister, nieces, and nephew, hiking, cod fishing with my dad, and relaxing with my hubby and our fur babies.

Maggie - Pet Aftercare Specialist

I joined Angel Paws in February 2026 after spending six years working as a veterinary assistant. Wanting to continue helping animals and the people who love them, I transitioned into pet aftercare to offer comfort, compassion, and support during one of the most difficult times a family can face. Creating meaningful commemorative pieces and guiding families through their grief is the most rewarding part of my work.

I truly appreciate the incredible team at Angel Paws. They welcomed me with open arms, and their kindness and willingness to help make every day meaningful.

At home, I’m a proud cat mom to Poppy, Clover, and Maple, and I hold a special place in my heart for my angel dog, Rosie, who passed in 2020.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my cats, watching movies, playing video games and being with my family and friends.

Jen – Part-Time Crematory Operator/ Aftercare Specialist

I joined the Angel Paws team in 2020 after a career in veterinary medicine, wanting to support families through the entire journey with their pets.

My favorite part of the job is helping return beloved pets to their families during their time of mourning. What I love most about Angel Paws is the amazing people I work with.

I share my home with my wonderful pets: my domestic short-hair cats Anton, Sylvie, and Pierogi, my mastiff mix, Nimbus, and my pitbull mix, Atlas.

When I’m not at Angel Paws, I enjoy kissing every cat that comes into the vet clinic and spoiling my pets at home.

Cory – Processing Operator

I joined the Angel Paws team in August of 2020. This field found me rather than the other way around. Since losing our beloved Willow, I haven’t had any pets of my own.

What I appreciate most about working at Angel Paws is the consistency—the clear tasks and set schedule help me stay focused. I also value the meaningful conversations I share with my co-workers.

In my free time, I enjoy going out on my quad, watching movies and TV shows, hanging out with my wife, and gaming on my phone.

Campbell – Garage Foreman Lead

I joined the Angel Paws team in August of 2023 after hearing about all the treats and attention, I’d get by coming to work with my mom, Michelle, but the humans there call her Squared.

At “work”, my job is looking so cute that no one can resist giving me treats and distracting the staff with games of fetch. What I love most about Angel Paws is getting to spend lots of time with mom and my other favourite humans, and all the treats and pets they give me! Mom says I’m spoiled and she’s probably right.

For fun, I enjoy hiking with my moms all around Newfoundland and sometimes even the United States! I also enjoy going to training classes, doing dog sports, and just loafing on the couch with my family. I sure am one lucky boy!
