FAQ
We do not perform euthanasia at Angel Paws. We do work closely with numerous vets throughout the Avalon and beyond though, and will provide whatever support we can in assisting you with someone to help.
Unfortunately not. At this time, we do not accept pets dropped directly off from the public, all pets must come through a vet clinic. Please reach out to us should you wish further details.
Most vet clinics will call us to let us know that your beloved pet is there for us to pick up for you. When advised, we will visit the vets that have contacted us. We visit clinics every weekday morning. If you are ever in doubt, Please feel free to reach out to us personally.
Private Cremation: When you choose a private cremation, your beloved pet will be placed into a crematory, separated from all other pets. We guarantee that your beloved pet will be the only pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. Your pets cremated remains will be returned in a complimentary urn, along with a signed certificate of cremation.
Communal Cremation: When you choose communal cremation, your beloved pet will gently be placed into a crematory with cremations of other pets. Communal cremations are carefully gathered and buried in our memorial garden. This option provides no cremains to owners.
The cost for a private cremation is based on multiple factors, including the weight of your pet or which vet clinic you use, as some clinics charge the cost for cremation directly themselves. For information on cremation costs, please feel free to contact us directly and we will advise you.
The cost for communal cremation is typically charged directly by your vet clinic. Contact them for the most accurate information.
Most often, if you are a client of the clinic you are bringing your pet to, they will not normally charge a holding fee. Most clinics do not, but we cannot guarantee which clinic will or will not. please check with the clinic directly.
There are two different types of cremation, and options vary depending on clinics. When a pet arrives at Angel Paws for a communal cremation, owners will not be contacted unless we are directed by the clinic to do so, or unless we have been contacted in advance by you to reach out when your pet arrives in our care. Please note that your contact information at our office and your vet clinic needs to be the same so that we don’t miss which pet is yours in this case!
when it comes to pets arriving for private cremation, we will contact all pet owners prior to cremation to review your final wishes and get your permission to proceed with your pet’s cremation. Please note, this does not apply for pets coming from CBS Animal Hospital or Kenmount Road Animal Hospital for private cremation, as they have separate contract rules.
Once your pet has arrived safely in our care, we will complete all our required paperwork and get your pet all tucked in. Once that is all completed, if your pet is here for private cremation we will reach out as per above to go over your wishes.
Typically, we ask that you give us 7 days to have your darling pet returned to you, but it doesn’t usually take that long. As soon as your pet is ready to come home, we will reach out and set up an appointment time for you to come an take them home again.
Your pet will be returned home in our private cremation urn, which is a little white patterned box with paw prints on it. This box can be seen under the memorial products section of our website, under urns.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Electronic Money Transfer (EMT), or Cash.
You can pay your invoice in person when you arrive for your appointment to take your pet home. For those clients who live out of town, wish to pay in advance, or wish to have their pets returned to their local vet clinic, you are able to pay over the phone by Mastercard or Visa, or EMT.
All our clients require an appointment to give everyone the time in our showroom to browse, discuss their pet, and grieve in a private space. The loss of a pet is a very emotional time, and our wish is to provide everyone with the space and privacy they need during that difficult time.
We can absolutely return pets to your regular clinic. Payments for cremation and requested memorial products must be made prior to your pet’s return to the clinic. Once your pet has been delivered, we, or your vet, will contact you to let you know we have returned your pet.
Please feel free to come and walk the memory garden at anytime during daylight hours and reflect on the memories of your beloved pet. Please keep an eye on our social media pages for any possible closures.
