Boots was diagnosed with Addison’s disease at only three months old. From the beginning, he needed a little extra care, but that never stopped him from living life to the fullest. For nine years, he filled our home with love, laughter, and a personality that was completely his own.
Boots loved the simple things most; swimming no matter the season, waiting beside a camping chair for someone to toss him a stick, leaf, or ball, and keeping a close eye on the Tim Hortons window the moment he heard “10 pack of assorted Timbits.” One of our favourite memories will always be the day he helped himself to eight McDoubles from his Dad’s truck, leaving behind nothing but wrappers.
He also had a love for music. During the pandemic, Boots began singing along to “Sarah” by Buddywasisname, howling and barking with so much enthusiasm that his Mom could barely keep the car on the road from laughing.
Boots loved his family deeply, especially his Nanny and Poppy, his little sister Bailey Rose, who misses him dearly, and his best buddy Greyson, who shared such a special connection with him. When Greyson and Boots were quiet you knew they were up to something!
When the time came, Boots was ready even though we never could be. Nine years was far too short, but we are forever grateful for every memory, every laugh, every swim, and every song.
We will carry you with us always, Boots. Love and miss you forever. We continue to look for you in every sunset, and love you beyond your years. Xoxo
