Tiny

After 17 years, we said goodbye to our precious Tiny, the sweetest cat with a perfect demeanour. She was very grand, always lying down with her arms crossed. Her favourite person was Mom, and she loved nothing more than cuddling with her. She had the loudest purr, especially when she was curled up with Mom.

Tiny loved music and would sing along whenever Mom played the piano. Her favourite song was “Caplin Time.” If you were ever wondering where Tiny was, all you had to do was start playing Caplin Time, and she would appear as if from thin air.

When we first got her, she had a little broken meow. Over the years, it developed into a very distinctive meow made up of several squeaky syllables. She always had a lot to say, and you could have a full conversation with her, with a response to everything you said.

We took Tiny everywhere. She went camping and loved being in the trailer, she visited Nan and Papa in St. Bernard’s, and visited Warren and Maggie in St. John’s. She made herself at home wherever she went. Although she hated the car, the destination always seemed to be worth it for her. She even had her own stroller, which she loved, but only inside the house.

Her favourite toy was parchment paper rolled up into a ball. She was quite the athlete and could catch it in her paws or volley it right back to you. She loved any kind of cat food that had gravy and would often just lick the gravy, leaving the solid bits behind.

Tiny tried to make friends with every animal she met, but was never successful. However, every person she met fell in love with her sweet personality and gentle spirit.

One of our favourite things about Tiny was when she would give us her “love eyes” – squinting her eyes whenever she was happy. We would melt every time.

Tiny was part of our family for 17 years. She brought so much joy, comfort, companionship, love, and laughter into our lives. She will be especially missed by Mom, her favourite person.

Rest in peace, sweet girl. Say hi to Ditta and Peanut for us.
