Cali

Once upon a time I walked into the CBS animal shelter and was greeted by the sweetest little Calico cat. She followed me everywhere that visit and has ever since. She knew she was mine from the moment we met.

Cali became the epitome of a lap cat. Whether I was crocheting, reading, watching tv, catching a nap, outside chatting, etc – if I was still, she was up with me. Even when my pregnant belly made it hard, she’d curl around it and find a way. She loved to curl up on anything actually, especially an unmade bed or load of clean clothes

She was a gentle cat, wouldn’t hurt a soul (was half afraid of her own shadow) and was a fantastic little camper kitty.

If she ever went missing or stayed outside too long, just bring out the treat bag. She would not pass that up ever. And she was always underfoot during meals (if not actually sitting in one of the chairs, her little head poking over the table to keep an eye out for abandoned food).

She became sick and passed on far too young. Cali was only 10, I was not prepared to see her go so soon.

Cali-Bear, I am going to miss you so much. Being home now without you greeting me and climbing on my lap is still an adjustment and I will miss that and you forever. Curl up all cozy on a blanket now until we meet again.
